Lodging in the Central Valley
Suites Cristina, the best value in a hotel San José Costa Rica has to offer. This is a very centrally located hotel if you have business in San José, minutes away from all embassies and major government offices, among other important business locations such as banks and law offices. They are very well suited for medical tourism. Their rooms consist of fully equipped apartments with kitchens, dining rooms and living rooms. A very nice place to stay for very reasonable rates.
Transportation
The Naviera Tambor website provides information about the Puntarenas-Paquera ferry including schedules and rates, even with Cristopher Cross’s Sailing as background music!
Sansa Airlines offers domestic flights in Costa Rica, departing from Juan Santamaría Airport in Alajuela to Tambor airport.
Transportes Cobano offers a direct bus from the Terminal 7-10 bus station in downtown San José to Montezuma for around $13 USD per person.
Montezuma Expeditions offers shuttle service from the Central Valley to Montezuma. They will pick you up at your hotel and drop you off anywhere in the Montezuma vicinity. Their rate for this service is $45 USD per person.
Things to do in the Montezuma area
Zoom Magazine is a local travel guide and general interest magazine with great information about events and places and people in the Nicoya Peninsula. Their magazine has a very useful phone book with contact numbers for numerous businesses and offices in the area. Don’t forget to pick up a copy of their magazine when you arrive in town, they’re free at most businesses in town. We’ll try to save you one!
Sun Trails operates the Montezuma Zipline and offers a variety of local tours and rentals. The zipline wraps around the forest that surrounds the beautiful Montezuma waterfalls.
